Geoffrey Lainé : Product Application Specialist PCA


Geoffrey Lainé is a product application specialist in particle characterization analysis within the Instrument Business Unit at the Palaiseau site.

Geoffrey leads customized, on-demand PCA training sessions. These sessions cover Laser Diffraction and Dynamic Light Scattering techniques and are designed for users ranging from beginners to advanced.

His training style is hands-on, conducted in a relaxed and positive atmosphere. Geoffrey adapts to each participant to ensure clarity and help them become independent and confident in their practice. 

As for the teaching methods used, practical experience is at the heart of the training sessions led by Geoffrey: “Practical application in real-world scenarios—nothing can replace hands-on experience in the field compared to hours of theory.

Geoffrey has seven years of experience in the field and works in various technical specialties, including Particle Characterization Analysis, Laser Diffraction, Nano Tracking Analysis, and Dynamic Light Scattering.

As for his educational background, Geoffrey earned a BTS in Biological Analysis, followed by a professional bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from ETSL (École des Technologies, des Sciences et du Laboratoire). 

Geoffrey Lainé joined HORIBA France in 2010, where he worked for nine years as an application engineer in SPRI (Surface Plasmon Resonance Imaging). Then, in 2019, Geoffrey shifted his focus to PCA techniques, which he continues to work on today. 

Geoffrey works in the pharmaceutical, semiconductor, environmental, energy, materials, and biology sectors on all types of samples and applications. 

My approach to my work is to simply understand clients’ needs, adapt to situations with common sense, learn from their challenges, and provide reliable solutions that build their confidence, without unnecessarily complicating matters.
